Spray Foam in a Metal Shed in Chesapeake, VA
Challenge
This homeowner had a metal shed that they wanted to insulate. They used the space for storage and as a workshop, so they wanted to be able to have some protection from the seasons.
To properly insulate the shed, we will not only need to add an insulation material but seal any small gaps and holes that allow air through. Metal sheds are common projects for The Drying Co. Team, so our crew was ready to take on the task.
Solution
After discussing the project with the homeowner, we determined the best product for the job was Closed-Cell Spray Foam. At 1.5 inches, this Closed-Cell Foam product creates both an air barrier and vapor retarder. Our technicians applied the spray foam to the walls and roof of the shed. The added insulation will help reduce the extreme temperatures in the shed giving the homeowner a more comfortable and controlled work and storage space. Since the shed is air sealed and insulated, they can even consider conditioning the air in the space to further control the temperature.
