Basement Trench
We dug out a trench around the inner perimeter of the basement, as well as a lateral line through the middle of the basement. The WaterGuard drainage system will be placed within this trench to catch any water seeping through the floors and under the exterior basement door.
WaterGuard Drainage System
The WaterGuard pieces were assembled and installed within the trench with drainage rock. This system will catch any water that seeps through the floors or in and around the exterior basement door.
SuperSump Plus - Sump Pump System
A hole was created in connection to the perimeter trench for the SuperSump Plus, which uses a Zoeller 1/3hp, a CleanPump stand, and a WaterWatch alarm.
SuperSump Plus Features
The SuperSump Plus is an ideal choice for basements that take on a lot of water. This unit features a 1/3 hp pump, a large basin, capable of fitting another pump in the future if needed without the homeowner having to dig up their floor to add another basin, an air-tight lid, keeping odors and moisture from rising into the basement, a clean pump stand that keeps the pump out of any sediment that may find its way into the basin, a float on the lid that activates if there is a leak from above such as a burst pipe or hot water heater so that the water can drain and be pumped out, and a water watch alarm that sounds if the basin gets too full or if water touches it from above.
Moving the Water Away From the Home
The SuperSump Plus drains any collected water and transports it away from the home's foundation, via a buried discharge line, to a pop-up drain location in the yard that the homeowner has chosen.
Pop-up Drainage
The drainage line that pulls water from the SuperSump Plus was connected to a yard pop-up that will release the water amongst a bed of rocks and into the yard. This pop-up was placed in the yard at a location that the homeowner selected and will help keep the water from being dumped outside the home's foundation.
Testing the WaterGuard System
A hose is used to test the WaterGuard system ensuring that the system works properly and guides the water to the SuperSump Plus and out to the pop-up drain away from the home.
Utilizing the TrenchLok
The TrenchLok is a special grate placed in front of doors to help catch any bulk water that seeps through the cracks of these doors.
Replacing the Trench Concrete
Our installers cover the trench and WaterGuard system. Even with the WaterGuard system installed, the homeowner can finish the basement and install flooring/carpeting over the basement floor.
Finalizing the Basement Project
The homeowner was experiencing up to three inches of water in his basement during heavy storms. With our SuperSump Plus and WaterGuard drainage systems put into place, any water that finds its way into the basement will be extracted and carried away from the foundation, keeping this basement dry.
