Damaged Fiberglass Insulation
Approximately 50% of the air you breathe in your home comes from your crawl space. The dirt, dust, and allergens that have been caught in the fiberglass insulation are a pretty good indication of all the pollutants that are making it into the air in your home.
Mold & Delamination
Microbial growth is occurring on the floor joists as a result of moisture and humidity. This moisture also damages the fiberglass insulation causing delamination. Delamination occurs when the fibers of the material begin to pull apart from one another leaving you with insulation that looks like it is dripping from the floors.
Interior Foundation Drainage
To manage the water getting into the crawl space, we're installing an interior foundation drainage system. The crew will dig a trench along the perimeter of the crawl space and lay in a drain line that leads to a sump pump (the yellowish thing you see in the bottom of the picture). This drain line will be responsible for collecting and carrying water to the sump pump.
Drainage Rock
Along with the drain line, drainage rock is installed to prevent clogging and to allow water to move more easily to the sump pump and out of the crawl space.
Super Sump Plus
The sump basin and a Super Sump Plus 1/3 HP pump are installed. We utilize a larger basin even with this single sump because it allows our homeowners to easily add a second sump if they find they need it or a battery backup system at a later date without having to dig up the sump pit and install a whole new basin, rock, etc. saving a lot of time, money, and stress for our homeowners. The bigger basin means a quicker fix if they find they need or want to upgrade to a dual sump system.
SuperSump Plus Sump Pump
With the drainage system and sump pump in place, the homeowner can have the peace of mind that any water that's making it in the crawl space is going to be taken right back out and away from the home's foundation. This Sump System features an airtight lid meaning moisture won't rise into the crawl space and add to the humidity under the home or let any odors out. It also has a water watch alarm (the orange puck behind the white PVC) this alarm sounds warning you if the water in the basin gets too high so you can catch a problem before the basin overflows or if water gets on top of the basin from an above leak. Finally a float (the clear/gray circular shape on the right of the lid) is air tight unless a leak from above such as a burst pipe lifts it allowing the pump to remove the water from the space.
Custom Crawl Space Door
Before The Everlast Crawl Space Door Panel is installed, a custom, pressure treated wood frame is installed to ensure a secure fit and seal of the new door.
Everlast Crawl Space Door Pannel
The Everlast Crawl Space Door Panel is a custom fit PVC panel that seals with gasket strips. This door does not rust, warp, or rot and is HOA compliant.
