Basement Waterproofing & SmartSump in Midlothian, VA
Challenge
This split-level home in Midlothian had issues with water coming in their basement. The water was damaging the walls, which were finished with sheetrock and water was entering through the exterior basement door.
Solution
We installed the WaterGuard Drainage System with a SmartSump and CleanSpace. In this case, not very much of the basement was below outside grade. We were able to remove the bottom section of sheetrock around the perimeter of the room to install the CleanSpace and WaterGuard System. We only needed to remove 1.5 - 2 feet of the sheetrock because the CleanSpace only needs to be 6-8 inches above outside grade for the drainage system. This will direct the water down into the WaterGuard drain track and to the SmartSump which pumps the water out of the basement and away from the home. After installation, we were able to replace the sheetrock, and the homeowner was able to finish off their basement.
