Knee Wall Space - Before
These knee wall spaces share with a finished living space. As the space heats up during the summer months or gets frigid during the winter months, the existing fiberglass insulation does little to prevent the extreme temperatures from impacting the living space on the other side of the wall.
Knee Wall Space - Before
Closed-cell spray foam insulation is applied to the attic slopes. The added R-value in the slopes will help reduce the extreme temperatures of the knee wall spaces and their impact on the living space.
PVs and Fiberglass Blockers
To prepare for insulation, we install PVs which allow proper ventilation of the roof and blockers that prevent insulation from blocking the soffit vents. Together these items ensure that the roof maintains the ventilation it needs.
Main Attic Space - Before
The main attic space has little insulation, no air sealing, is home to ductwork, and its extreme temperatures in the summer and winter months impact the ductwork and the living space below.
Air Sealing
Air sealing the attic includes around can light with rock wool covers, top plates, electrical penetrations, plumbing, bath fans, around HVAC, and any other utility penetrations between the conditioned living space and unconditioned attic to stop as much air escaping into the attic as possible.
