Radon Fan
The radon fan is installed on the exterior of the home. It creates a negative pressure under the home sucking the air through the PVC to the exhaust. The fan exhausts the radon above the roofline, where outside air can dilute the gas to safe levels. The fan has a moisture guard that helps to protect it from the elements and a guard on the exhaust pipe that prevents leaves, rodents, and debris from entering the system and damaging the fan.
Radon Systems in the Basement
A hole is drilled through the slab so that the PVC line can sit under the home. The seam between the PVC and the slab are sealed to prevent air leakage. This line is run through the rim and band leading to the radon fan and the joint is sealed to prevent air infiltration.
U-Tube Manometer
The manometer is a visual indication of the pressure in the system allowing technicians and the homeowner to easily see if the system is functioning properly.
