Construction Laborer – Waterproofing & Foundation Stabilization

The Drying Company is a growing local business and is looking for positive, friendly, driven individuals to join our team. We will provide in-office and on-site job training for installing our products and solutions, working with homeowners, and providing 5-star service on every job.

The Drying Company is a local, family-owned, Home Performance Contractor that has been serving Greater Richmond and Hampton Roads since 2002. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for positive, friendly, and driven individuals to join our team. Our Installation Professionals spend the most time on-site with our homeowners installing products and solutions at their homes. We are looking for individuals with a high level of integrity who take pride in their work and are always willing to learn to provide our clients with WOW service.

How does it work? Your morning starts at our office in Toano, VA. You’ll arrive on-site and receive your work orders for the day. This will be the job(s) you will be installing, the materials you will need, and the details of the project. You will load your truck for the day and set off to the client’s home. As an installation professional, you will arrive on-site and introduce yourself to the homeowner. You’ll review the project with them, answer any questions, and set to work. You’ll check in with the homeowner halfway through the job to give them an update on the progress and see if they have any more questions. Once the installation is complete, you will take photos of the work for the client’s records and ours and ensure the job site is clean and free of debris and nails, and your truck is neatly packed. You will do a final check-in with the homeowner, show them the work completed, and ensure they are happy with the job, so if any touch-ups are needed, we can complete them right then and there.

The Drying Company serves homeowners from Greater Richmond through Williamsburg and into Virginia Beach, VA and currently has 30+ installation professionals installing solutions for our homeowners every day (Monday – Friday). Knowledge is a key value in our business. Our Production Team gathers every Monday Morning at our Office in Toano, VA we use the time to train on any challenges we’ve encountered and work together to develop solutions and celebrate wins. Your Contribution

·         Represent the company in a professional manner

·         Demonstrate a clear knowledge of the products you install & be able to answer customer questions.

·         Adhere to OSHA standards for the safety of yourself, your crewmates, and homeowners.

·         Working as part of a team/crew to efficiently complete projects.

·         Communicate frequently and clearly with office staff on project status.

·         Solve obstacles as they arise (not every job goes according to plan)

Basement Waterproofing Projects Entail:

·         Taking Before & After Photos

·         Reviewing the project with the homeowner at the beginning, mid-day, and end of the day.

·         Jackhammering and removing concrete

·         Carrying drainage rock and installing it in designated areas.

·         Laying drainage track

·         Digging sump pump pits

·         Installing & testing a sump pump basin, sump pump(s), and their drainage lines.

·         Lining and/or insulating basement walls or ceiling.

·         Replacing removed concrete and smoothing.

·         Installation of dehumidifiers

·         In some cases jobs may require the removal of drywall or stairs to perform installation.

·         Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record

Working conditions

·         Travel between job sites and to the office.

·         Must be comfortable in small, dark, and damp areas.

·         Able to handle weather conditions based on the season.

Physical Requirements

·         Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, gross manipulation, driving, stooping, crouching, kneeling, climbing, speaking, hearing, Near & Far Visual Acuity, Peripheral Vision.
