Foundation Drainage in Gloucester, VA
Challenge
This Gloucester homeowner reached out to us because they had concerns with water seeping into the crawl space.
Solution
We installed an interior foundation drainage system in the crawl space. This was done by cleaning out all debris and the old vapor barrier then trenching for foundation lines to be installed below crawl space grade. The drain lines discharge to the SuperSump, a 1/2 hp pump with basin and stand. The pump will carry water away from the home and to a spot on the property designated by the homeowner. We then installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, a 20-mil heavy-duty liner that was sealed to the crawl space walls leaving space for a termite viewing strip. We also sealed all of the vents and installed friction fit doors behind all three crawl space accesses.
The CleanSpace Vapor Barrier will direct any water that enters through the foundation wall down to the drainage system and will keep out moisture from the earth and groundwater.
