The Drying Co./ThermalTec Receives Air Barrier Association of America's Air Barrier Excellence Award!
The Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) holds an annual conference and trade show focusing on air barriers and building air tightness where attendees have the opportunity to learn from some of the leading individuals in the industry with expertise in building enclosures, moisture management, air barriers, sustainability, and enclosure commissioning.
At this year’s convention, our team accepted one of two ABAA Air Barrier Excellence Awards given in the country. The Award of Excellence recognizes a company that adheres to ABAA policies and procedures for safety, installation, and administration. In order to qualify for the award, a company must have a minimum of 5 job site audits and 0 demerit points within one year for any infractions. By earning this award, we demonstrate to General Contractors and Building Owners that we are one of the premier installers of Air Barriers in the country allowing them to put their trust in us that the job will be performed efficiently, safely, and to the superior standards of ABAA and The Drying Co.
ABAA is a national, not-for-profit association whose mission is “To work together with our membership, industry and trade to be the recognized voice for air barrier knowledge and quality assurance.” ABAA’s members and stakeholders include manufactures, architects, engineers, trade contractors, researchers, testing & audit agencies, consultants and building owners. ABAA leads the Air Barrier industry and raises the bar through their Quality Assurance Program. They also offer training, certifications, product evaluations, standards development, building codes and technical resources for the Air Barrier Industry.
The Drying Co. has 6 employees who have certifications from ABAA. These certifications include; ABAA QAP certified, varying levels of Fluid Applied/Self-Adhered Certified, and Spray Foam certifications.
What these certifications stand for is the commitment our team has to not only doing the job correctly, but to the highest standards of safety and quality. Many of the jobs these individuals work on require them to work on scaffolding or in lifts to reach every inch of a building’s exterior to apply air barriers. It is imperative that these employees adhere to ABAA policies and procedures along with OSHA guidelines in order to ensure everyone on the job site, not just our team, is safe.
“We are very proud of our employees for the great pride and care they take in their work” Steve Tetreault, the Owner of The Drying Co. boasts in response to receiving this award.
