Fort Eustis: Our First Commercial Project
Helping homeowners has been our major focus since the start of the company in 2002. It was not until 2009 that we expanded to our first commercial project which was completed on the Fort Eustis Army Base located in the heart of Hampton Roads. Since then, our commercial division has grown exponentially with projects ranging from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg to The Chrysler Museum of Art and Sentara Hospital in Norfolk.
Our first commercial project was certainly a fascinating one! We insulated the roof of a helicopter hanger. It might take a tall ladder to access a home’s attic, but it takes an aerial lift to insulate a building tall enough to store helicopters. Once we completed this hanger, we were asked to insulate 27 more buildings on the Fort Eustis base that same year. And we keep being asked back for insulation and other specialty projects.
There is a rigorous process for non-military visitors to access Fort Eustis. Each crew member who performs any work on a base must pass a full criminal background check. There are many other safety regulations that must be carefully followed throughout the installation process. We are more than happy to accommodate the tight security standards and we consider it an incredible honor to serve our military heroes based here in Hampton Roads.
