The Drying Company is honored to be recognized as a Clean Business by James City County.
Our focus is to help homeowners live healthier lives in their homes with peace of mind that their investments, their home, and their families, are protected from mold and mildew, foundation settlement, and poor indoor air quality. The work we do at our customer's homes helps to improve the energy efficiency of the home, reducing energy usage and saving homeowners on their energy bills.
Some examples of the green products we use include; our dehumidifiers which are energy star rated, only cycling on when needed, and using the energy it need to do its job. We also use products such as cellulose insulation which is 85% recycled material (newspaper) to insulate attics and walls. The air purifier, The Aspen, that we offer to homeowners to help with indoor allergens and air quality uses EC fan technology using up to 85% less electricity than a traditional AC fan and its efficiency increases at lower fan speeds (plus it removes 99.98% of nano-particles down to 0.002 microns!). The products we choose to offer our clients are products that are good for the environment and good for their homes. They are long-lasting, meaning they don't get replaced over and over wasting materials and this means long-term solutions for our homeowners that leave BIG impacts on energy savings.
The energy-saving work we do in our client's homes results in a huge impact on our environment. While this work saves our homeowners an average of 20% (estimated at $480,00 total savings for our homeowners) in energy savings per year (this savings varies and can be much more for some homes depending on the starting conditions and improvements made) the impact goes even further than just reducing energy bills. These improvements result in saving approximately 1,930,808 trees per year. To learn more about the impact these energy saving improvements have on our homes and environment, check out this blog post.
